Impact — Our Vision

It is Phoenix Conservatory of Music’s vision to:

— Have the premier music education program during out-of-school hours in the Phoenix Metro area.

— Provide our programs at low or no cost so all students can participate, regardless of their circumstances.

— Give our students a music-plus education experience that provides extra vitamins, such as increasing developmental assets, helping with learning skills, making sure youth have a fun place to go and be with like-minded people, giving them experiences and opportunities they would otherwise not have.

— Partner strategically with other organizations and learning institutions to provide unique opportunities and experiences for our students.

— Create a vibrant city music center that is the hub of music education the Valley.

— Become more sustainable by increasing earned revenue programs, expanding fundraising efforts, further board and staff development, create infrastructure to continue to fill a growing need, and giving amazing training and performing opportunities to our artists.

Our Impact

In the 2009/2010 year, PCM had an impact on the community (from Aguila to Chandler and all over the Phoenix Metro area). We provided programming to a wide range of participants - toddlers to high school students, teen mothers to senior citizens. These classes were held at PCM’s learning facility, as well as schools, public libraries, recreation centers, city community centers, adult learning centers, transitional housing facilities and homes for teenage mothers.

During the year, PCM was able to diversity, broaden and deepen the musical experiences we offered to the community. We serve the community with a dedicated staff, board, teaching artists, partners, donors, funders, and volunteers who all play a special part in Unleashing the Power of Music.
Here is our impact By the Numbers

 — 46 collaborations with different community partners.

— 14 new partnerships established.

— 173 affordable registration-based parent pay programs.

— 64 no cost programs to underserved communities.

— 12 family sharing events where students performed.

— 3 community recitals for our students.

— 263 students in after-school programs.

— 250 students in early childhood programs.

— 743 children at school programs (K through 12).

— 57 students taking private lessons.

— 33 artists – excellent musicians and master educators – who mentored, inspired, and engaged their students in the community with their love of music.

— 2,127 students were served, with a minimum of 4 hours and up to 110 hours of direct learning instruction from professional working artists.
